We are now planning our concert and event programme for 2012.
As well as our normal events, we will be organising a "Party in the Park" on Sunday June 3rd. to celebrate the Queen`s Diamond Jubilee.
Discussions are also taking place with Stockton Council to place more permanent seating, especially around the bandstand.
Our next newsletter is being compiled for distribution in March.
Looking back, the Christmas Fair was a great success, thanks largely to our volunteers and also the weather. The photo on the right shows how fortunate we were on that day.
Leaflets are available in the cafe for a childrens` guide and games, orienteering and park walks.
Tranquility
There was hustle and bustle around our Christmas fair and the play area, but just a short walk down to the lake and the atmosphere was one of stillness and tranquility. Ropner Park offers many different features for us to enjoy.
"The Friends of Ropner Park"
Outstanding. That was the verdict of the RHS judges in the Northumbria in Bloom Neighbourhood awards on the impact of Friends of Ropner Park in our neighbourhood. To say that we were delighted is an understatement. Many people work hard for FoRP and it is wonderful to find that these efforts are appreciated.
Friends of Ropner Park produce two newsletters each year.
