Eid Fusion Festival 2017

The 4th.  Eid Fusion Festival was held in Ropner Park on Sunday July 2nd. 2017

The event is organised by the Friends of Ropner Park and the Community Welfare Trust with the help of Stockton Council.

The event seems to get bigger and better every year and the good weather helped.

Tina  Whiteside has produced an experimental video.

It`s very good! Have a look.                            EID Video

Children from Bowesfield Primary School and Hartburn Primary School prepared banners for the event.

The Mayor of Stockton Counc. Maurice Perry visited every corner of the site. Here he is talking to two of the volunteers at the FoRP stall.

The first event of the afternoon was a giant “pass the parcel” at the bandstand.

Outside attractions included the climbing wall.

When people arrived, their first stop seemed to be the Asian food stalls. I wonder why?Further Asian attraction was provided by the Haji Ameer Qawwali Band

Their performance was very much appreciated

Meanwhile inside the Marquee the children (and adults) were having a hilarious time.

And in a quiet corner artist was beginning a mandela with its centrepiece a depiction of the River Tees. He quickly had help from the audience.

The finished mandela was amazing.
